Schok & Pomp Medical trainings include First Responder Training and First Aid for Babies and Children training. We work exclusively with instructors who have practical experience: doctors, co-assistants with Emergency Department experience or Intensive Care Nurses. But also the management around the teaching staff gets (medical) issues on their desk that they would like to present to a doctor.
In this live webinar, physician and founder Bernard Leenstra discusses:
- The RS virus and norovirus: what's the difference and can we prevent it?
- Children with backpacks: how to prepare pedagogical staff for this?
- Homeopathic remedies: to allow or not to allow in daycare?
Sign up for this webinar, learn about the medical perspective on these topics in an approachable way, and ask any questions you have!
What topics will be covered in this webinar? We will delve into important medical issues at play within the child care industry. Dr. Bernard Leenstra, family physician at Schok & Pomp, will explain the difference between the RS virus and norovirus and whether prevention is possible. We will also discuss how pedagogical staff can be prepared for children with extra care needs and whether homeopathic remedies have a place within child care.
By attending this webinar, anyone involved in safety, quality and education within child care can learn about the medical perspective on these topics. These insights can then assist in making thoughtful choices in the workplace.
Besides his job as medical director, Bernard Leenstra (32) founder of Schok & Pomp Medical Trainings, is also a general practitioner. His experiences as a doctor in the Emergency Room (ED), where he often saw victims who would have benefited from proper on-site first aid, inspired him to teach everyone in the Netherlands about first aid. An important subject within that is children's first aid. Everyone who has children or works with children should know what to do if something happens to a child. Bernard would like to contribute to improving that knowledge.
What do students say
about the Schok & Pomp Courses?
It was a very nice First Responder Training evening, really what connected to childcare and not of everything else. so very clear!
It was an excellent morning. smooth girl who taught the course. no comments or criticisms.
Also due to small group sufficient time to practice everything, ask questions and cover case in detail
Especially nice how the class was taught!
Teacher had a lot of knowledge and shared it in an interesting way that allowed me to keep my attention. there was enough time for the parts and/or to ask/answer questions.
The teaching style made it very easy to keep your attention until the end. super nice.
Very nice that it was a small group of participants.
It was nice that everyone was given a case and also a doll, which allowed you to empathize even better. nice was also that everyone could and did respond.
The trainer had a fun way of teaching this kept the concentration on the lesson and there was room for questions etc in between.
I was honestly looking forward to it a bit, but it was over just like that. the instructor did it very nicely, in a way that kept us on task. jokes in between, occasional breaks. this way, I think, more of what we learned sticks. so definitely worth repeating. thanks.
The instructor brought the training in a fun way. good example situations what connects to the work and extra explanation with what to watch out for. instructive and learned new tips.
Especially with humor and room for questions, it was taught in a nice way.
It was a super training, clear and bright! both theory and practice. thanks !!!
Everything fit together seamlessly.
I want this trainer every year!!! so bright, witty and clear!!! the morning flew by and it lingers now because of his evocative explanations!!!
What a fantastic teacher we had! Really all credit to her!!!
Very satisfied! Good fun story and very good structure.
The trainer was very nice to listen to. Got a lot of relevant information and learned a lot, also CPR with the app was very instructive.
Very involved teacher could also take a joke. Top thanks.
Super good teacher, thank you for the good training!
I thought it was one of the most informative trainings I have had for First Aid/FirstFirst Responder Training!
It was a very nice instructor, was open to questions and nothing was crazy. Explained very clearly and well with also a little deepening of the material and some medical background here and there. Very useful and interesting.
It was a fine instructor who led the course competently. With a little joke in between made the practice enjoyable.
Top Training. A little more time/longer practice of CPR and ADR.
Very pleasant experience, short, clear, variety, in short excellent! Especially when like me you have had First Responder Training for a long time, have had to read very long boring pieces of theory for years this is really a so much better.
How incredibly well designed!!! The training was very easy to follow. The trainer was super nice, everything was explained calmly but clearly. There was room for questions. We were able to practice well!
She was friendly and it was clear. the teacher was good!
Very good and knowledgeable instructor. Clearly knowledgeable about the material. Had good time monitoring and clear explanations! Very satisfied!
Super interesting training. Spontaneous, kind and knowledgeable!
Explaining such difficult material so easily is truly an art. You did so in a calm and clear manner, and kept it lighthearted where possible. Thanks!

The instructor did a very good job, could tell the information in a good and clear way. Have never enjoyed doing first aid so much.
Very nice training with our teacher. Very clear explanations and good teacher. Good information in the email beforehand, e.g. in terms of location and travel.
It was top notch!!! Nice training, also lots of practical examples. Was also interesting to get to experience that.
What toppers!!! The 2 doctors in training but also the doctor, really very knowledgeable and really want to teach you something. Found it super instructive!
