Life-saving and first aid for babies and children - old

Description

Course

Shocks & Pumps:

Life-saving and first aid for babies and children

This course Life-Saving Operations for Infants and Children was designed in collaboration with physicians from the Wilhelmina Children's Hospital and Princess Maxima Center. In this short course (3 hours) you will learn to recognize a (seriously) ill child and know what to do when a child is possibly in acute life danger.

The topics were chosen based on what we doctors in the Netherlands have seen pass (serious) childhood diseases and/or disorders.

The focus of this course is on learning to act when a child is acutely life-threateningly ill. We simulate situations where acting in the first few minutes is vital. In addition, we learn the difference between something that seems serious and something that is serious. For example, febrile convulsions, extremely annoying to see but rarely life-threatening. What you will not learn during this course is how to apply band-aids, pierce blisters or put on a sling.

Training

During the 3-hour training course, theory is interspersed with exercises. This keeps it an interactive course and actions are practiced directly when it is explained how to apply them.

We use state-of-the-art CPR dummies that show directly through an APP what you can do to improve CPR. This way everyone gets personalized feedback.
