Schok & Pomp: Resuscitation and AED use course
With knowledge comes power!
Sign up for the Resuscitation and AED use course, specially developed for Arcadians as part of the HS&W Week. During this training, you will learn how to save a life at home or work. Upon completion, you will receive a two-year valid CPR & AED certificate, allowing you to register for the civilian aid network.
What can you expect from the course?
This training, designed and taught by doctors and medical students with experience in the emergency department, not only provides you with knowledge but also the confidence to act in critical moments. The course is short, to the point, and immediately applicable.
In addition to the practical training, after signing up, you will receive an invitation for an e-learning course that can be completed in 1.5 hours before the training. To participate in the practical training, you must complete this e-learning with a positive result (80%+). This ensures everyone starts the practical training with the same basic knowledge, leaving plenty of time for questions and practicing the procedures. At the start of the training, you will be asked to show your e-learning certificate.
Registration for the resuscitation & AED training is open until friday October 25.

Personal guidance and modern tools
During the training, you will practice with a maximum of two people on the latest adult, child, and infant resuscitation mannequins, which provide real-time feedback via an app on your resuscitation performance. This allows you to know exactly how to improve your technique, with personal guidance from our medical instructors.

- Recognizing and responding to a stroke
- What to do in case of unconsciousness and potential choking
- Applying the recovery position
- Performing resuscitation when every second counts

Instructors
The instructors at Schok & Pomp are doctors or medical students. They have experience working with patients in medical emergencies. Therefore, they speak from experience and know how to act in these situations. They can also answer questions or give examples that may not necessarily relate to the specific course topics.
