Description
First aid and Life-saving Treatment of Infants and Children
Schok & Pomp
This course first aid and life-saving treatment for babies and children is organized especially for the parents and caregivers of the children of Child Center De Boomhut Ter Aar . The training will be given on Friday, September 6 from 19:00 - 22:00 hours, at the location Beverlanderhof 28, 2461 BT Ter Aar.
Let's see if a bead fits in your nose, a finger caught in the door or an unfortunate fall; parents of young children are supposed to know what is the right thing to do! But if the toddler has burned himself on that hot tea, do you cool with cold or lukewarm water? When is it okay to put iodine in a wound and when is it not? Or worse, what do you do when your little one chokes on a grape and gets increasingly stuffy?
The instructors of Shock&Pump are physicians, co-assistants or nurses. So they all have hands-on experience and have actually performed life-saving procedures. They cover common accidents with babies and children and practice CPR and use of an AED with everyone.
The course was designed by several pediatricians with work experience in the Emergency Department. In this short course you will learn how to act in case of a medical emergency and how to operate an AED.
The topics were chosen based on how common serious conditions are AND whether someone without prior medical training can still make a difference. The course is to-the-point, has a nice pace and is fun to follow.
In particular, we focus on: how to recognize it and what to do. Because all the instructors are doctors, they can explain the relevance of the action well. What you won't learn during this course is band-aids, piercing blisters or putting on a sling.
Cost
We may offer this training for € 95 (instead of € 105). Almost all health insurers reimburse a first aid course in the first supplementary package of the health insurance. So check with your health insurance: 95% of the course participants get the training fully reimbursed!
The training
The training consists of 2 parts.
Once you sign up, you will receive an e-learning within 24 hours. You can read it online. It covers all the topics and allows you to make the theory your own.
The second part is the practical training on Friday, September 6 from 19:00 - 22:00 . The practical training will take place at Beverlanderhof 28, 2461 BT Ter Aar. During the practical training a lot of time will be spent practicing the skills, such as CPR itself and the use of the AED.
Because all of our instructors are physicians and co-assistants, they can answer any real-world question.
