First Aid for Children and Babies

This first aid course for babies and children is especially organized for the parents and caretakers of the Partou childcare children. The training will be given on Tuesday 14th of October from 7:00 pm – 10:00 pm at Mirabelweg 96, 5632 PD Eindhoven.

Let’s see if a bead fits in your nose, a finger caught between the door or an unfortunate fall; parents of young children are supposed to know what to do! But if your toddler has burned herself on that hot tea, do you cool with cold or lukewarm water? When is iodine allowed and when is it not allowed in a wound? Or worse, what do you do if your little one chokes in a grape and gets short of breath?

The teachers at Schok&Pomp are doctors, residents or nurses. Therefore, they all have practical experience and have actually performed life-saving actions. They go through the common accidents with babies and children with you and practice CPR and the use of an AED with everyone.

The training has been designed by several pediatricians with work experience in the emergency department. In this short course you will learn how to act in case of a medical emergency and how to use an AED.

The topics have been chosen based on how often serious disorders occur and whether someone without medical training can still make a difference. The course is to-the-point, has a nice pace and is fun to follow.

We focus in particular on: how do I recognize the symptoms and what should I do? Because all teachers are doctors, they can explain the relevance of the action as well. What you will not learn during this course is applying bandages, popping blisters or applying a sling.

Costs

We offer this training for € 105,- (instead of € 115,-). Almost all health insurance reimburse a first aid course in the first supplementary package of the health insurance. So check with your health insurance: 80% of the participants will receive a full reimbursement for the training!

The Course

The in-class course takes place  on Tuesday 14th of October,  from 7:00 PM – 10:00 PM. The training will take place at Mirabelweg 96, 5632 PD Eindhoven. 

This course will be given in English. However, the e-mails connected to this course (confirmation of booking, reminder for your calendar 1 week in advance) are in Dutch as they are automatically sent by our system.

During the practical training, a lot of time is spent on practicing the required skills, such as resuscitation and the use of the AED. Because all our teachers are doctors and interns, they can answer any question from their practical experience.

Teachers

The teachers at Schok & Pomp are doctors or residents. They have experience working with patients during medical emergencies. Therefore, they speak from experience and know how to act in these situations. They can also answer questions or examples that do not necessarily belong to the topics.
